Currently, EARC is working in collaboration with WAPCAS to train 7 health facilities as part of intervention for reducing stigma in health facilities towards persons living with HIV (PLHIV) and Key Population (KP).
The training program is focused on understanding stigma and discrimination and how they negatively impact health services. The training sessions are intended to ‘trigger’ participants (health care practitioners) to change their attitudes, adopt new behaviors, and take action to address stigma and discrimination in their health facilities.
The beneficiaries of this intervention are Accra Regional Hospital, Eastern Regional Hospital, Offinso St. Patrick Hospital, Kumasi South Hospital, Techiman Holy Family Hospital, Sunyani Regional Hospital and Kintampo Municipal Hospital, as well as reps from PROLINK, NACP, HFFG, WAPCAS. This project, funded by Global Fund, will end in December 2019.
